She is a Certified Lymphedema Therapist, trained in two delivery methods. Vodder Technique, which she acquired through intensive training at The Academy of Lymphatic Studies in Florida. She obtained her certification with Vodder Technique. This certification equips her with the expertise to work effectively with clients dealing with lymphedema, lipedema, pre post surgery, autoimmune disorders ,immunity concerns, sinuses, and other lymphatic issues. She also holds Level 1-3 manual lymphatic drainage certification from the Chikly Institute in Tucson, Arizona. With advanced manual lymphatic drainage (MLD) techniques, Hurst can address lymphatic concerns at a profound level. Unlike the circulatory system, which pumps blood, the lymphatic system uses contractions to move lymphatic fluid through vessels and nodes. When the fluid is impeded from proper flow, issues such as swelling, fluid balance, toxin buildup, and immune system decline happen. MLD is a specialized technique used to stimulate lymphatic fluid flow and help bring the body back into alignment. “Not many are aware of the functions of the lymphatic system,” says Hurst. “The Alberta Lymphedema Association is doing a wonderful job of educating the public about lymphatic issues and what to look out for.”

“When a cancer patient’s lymph nodes are removed, lymphatic treatment can really make a difference in their recovery and ongoing comfort,” Hurst shares. I became aware of how beneficial lymphatic treatment is for pre and post surgery, immune system building, and much more. The lymphatic system is a major regulator in the body.”
